Today

PPA programmes at a glance

The ongoing work behind the dates above. Teal marks courses, green marks PPA programmes.

Design courses

Basic and Advanced Permaculture Design Course, Social Permaculture (the ecology of being human, relationships that build resilient groups) and Bamboo Training (plant, harvest, process and craft bamboo, and leave with something you made). All courses use social constructivism: participants learn actively, not passively.

Mini workshops

Weekends at a mature permaculture site with practical, immersive skills, to see how things are done in the PPA research site.

Permaculture Resilience Institutes and the map

PPA endorses partner and member sites as points of a network on a map. Strong hubs can become Permaculture Resilience Institutes, meeting points of practitioners in a region, working with both government and grassroots.

Publications and materials

Self-study titles such as Permaculture 101, Agroforestry, Food 101, Riparian Zone and Essential Biodiversity, sold in the PPA shop.

Consultancy

Design help for gardens, farms, buildings and organisations. With partners: large-scale farm set-ups, green construction and renewable energy.

Membership and university certificate

PPA membership is open. Together with the University of the Philippines Open University, PPA offers the Permaculture Systems Design Thinking Certificate Course.
